Virtual Show Callers
Hello, and thank you for being a part of the upcoming show, we are excited to work with you. Our goal is to produce a quality show for our clients with their own branding, otherwise we would use a platform like Zoom or Teams, but we want a higher quality broadcast without their logos on it. 🙂
The platform we use to bring our virtual guests into our shows is called vMix, and below are a few important guidelines to follow. Please reach out if you have any questions.
- PLEASE BE HARDWIRED IN: Often people think they have great wifi speeds but don’t realize how many cell phones, tablets, security cameras and other devices are also on wifi to compete with. We will be having you UPLOAD your video stream to us in a higher quality than most traditional platforms out there. So, grab an ethernet wire and plug it into the back of your wifi router.
- PLEASE USE CHROME OR FIREFOX: Chrome is preferred and we can navigate you to all the correct settings if we need to. Safari is proven not to work very well with our system.
- PLEASE USE HEADPHONES: Platforms like Zoom really crush the sound quality to cut out echo and background noises, we want the best possible sound so we ask all of our guests to please use some headphones, earbuds, or even AirPods – and make sure you are in a quiet place.
- NO VIRTUAL BACKGROUND: Unfortunately, we do not use virtual backgrounds, so please find a well lit place with a nice background.
- CAMERA SETUP: It’s best to have your webcam at eye level like the photo above.
- ALLOW ACCESS TO CAMERA AND MICROPHONE: We will not be able to hear you or see you if you skip this step, so please be sure to allow access to your camera and microphone. Still having problems, see TROUBLESHOOTING BELOW.
- CLOSE ALL OTHER PLATFORMS: Be sure to close other platforms like Zoom, Teams, FaceTime, etc to free up your camera and microphone.

When you login for the show or rehearsal, our show producer will be able to talk to you behind the scenes. He/She will give you instructions and let you know when you are going on live.
TROUBLE SHOOTING: The most common issue we have is Chrome not allowing access to your camera and/or microphone, so please follow these links in advance.
Chrome Camera Settings: Select the three dots in the upper-right corner of Chrome, then go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings > Camera > CLICK “Sites can ask to use your camera”
Chrome Microphone Settings: Select the three dots in the upper-right corner of Chrome, then go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings > Microphone > CLICK “Sites can ask to use your microphone”
